Here is the cool stuff
American Power Group
APG's dual fuel system converts diesel engines and diesel generators to function more efficiently and at a lower operating cost (net fuel cost savings of 25% - 35%) by seamlessly displacing 40%-70% of the normal diesel fuel consumption with CNG, LNG, or bio-methane. APG's system is non-invasive to the OEM engine and operates within all OEM performance controls with the flexibility to return to 100% diesel operation at any time. APG's dual fuel conversion and emissions reduction systems can help users achieve their sustainability goals through lower carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, and particulate matter emissions. In addition, the introduction of natural gas through APG's dual fuel system does not impact diesel engine power or pulling torque and will assist in extending the engine's oil life as natural gas is a cleaner burning fuel compared to diesel.

American Power Group - The Dual Fuel Engine that Could
![]() |
| APGI - American Power Group INC |
American Power Group (OTCQB:APGI) presents a long investment opportunity whose entry point for the wise long is now. The APG story is compelling. What makes it more compelling is the story's setting… the current flash point of growth in the use and availability of natural gas. I outline all of this in great detail in my Seeking Alpha Instablog post on APGI.
Yet, a micro-cap having a story doesn't mean they have the means to bring that story to fruition, or that they will avoid doing so on the weary, diluted backs of early investors. APGI stands at the turning point of cash-positivity, even pending profitability, and uniquely has the resources and business plan to be the micro-cap story that succeeds.
How is this so?
APGI has already completed a vast majority of the costly "heavy lifting" needed for a successful rollout of its superior and perfectly-timed diesel/natural gas conversion units. This includes spending the millions of dollars needed to have accomplished all of:
- The testing and applications to receive an industry-insurmountable number of OUL engine family approvals from the EPA (~450). The Company is working to become the first retrofit technology to obtain IUL approval and estimates the cost to complete the top four engine families to be around $500K.
- Full patent protection of their technologies and methods
- Establishing the crucial partnership with The Wheeltime Network and the costs related to technician and authorized dealer training
- Establishing manufacturing capabilities
- Hiring appropriate support and sales staff at the company level
- Proactively facilitating the solidification of the share base into a solid, company-friendly group of major holders and retail investors
- The costs of many years and millions of breakdown-free miles on their dual fuel vehicular evaluation units and stationary use evaluation units (e.g. fracking rigs)
- Establishing major partnerships with leading companies in the natural gas realm, such as Blu and Evol
As such, the company's capital expenditure budget for the coming year and beyond will see a dramatic decrease. For APGI to gain EPA approval for the one remaining OUL engine family, and the four IUL engine families they seek for their business plan, the total remaining outlay will be a only about $500,000.

Natural gas Penetrates 6% of Land Drilling Market
![]() |
| American Power Group |
The Zeus conference concludes that natural gas has slowly replaced the use of diesel fuel. APG and Prometheus Energy have reported that 70 out of 1200 of Americas land based oil rigs are now powered by gas from LNG, wellheads and pipelines.
This is great news because when you drill for oil you will almost always find an abundance of natural gas above the oil. Generally in the past this gas is set on fire and released into the atmosphere....which is a waste of fossil fuels.
Thanks to American Power Group and their generators oil drilling operations can use their own gas to power the oil rig and the entire site.
The electricity to power these rigs is commonly supplied by large reciprocating engines, according to Lyle Jensen, CEO of American Power Group, a manufacturer of diesel-engine conversion kits. He explained that each rigs is commonly powered by three units,
ranging in size from 750 hp (0.6 MW) to 1,500 hp (1.1 MW).

A moment on reliable energy from American Power Group
![]() |
| American Power Group |
About 1,200 people live and work at the campus.
The facility has three 725 kw engines for on-site generation, giving it added security and the ability to “peak shave.” When power rates are at their peak, the facility shaves its bill by generating its own electricity.
Two of the generators run on 100 percent natural gas. The third, a diesel generator, was converted to APG’s Dual fuel. Converting to Dual fuel is cheaper than converting to 100 percent natural gas, since it does not alter the way the engine works. And Dual fuel allows the engine to use 100 percent diesel if natural gas supplies are interrupted.
“In case of emergency, we have the flexibility of using diesel to keep our emergency systems running,” says Juan Mata, plant manager of the Watchtower complex. “Dual fuel allows us to perform without interruption. We have both flexibility and security.
This may not be the absolute solution but we have an abundance of natural gas in America.

American Power Group Making Big Deals - (APGI)
APG and its subsidiary American Power Group Inc has announced a 900,000$$ order to do some engine conversions on hydraulic pumps for the top 5 oil and natural gas producers in the world. This is some pretty huge news for a small company from Algona Iowa. APGI will be producing a turnkey operational solution for these hydraulic pumps and it will enable customers to install subsequent pumps.
From Etrade - APGI
Lyle Jensen, CEO of American Power Group, stated, "We are pleased that, following extensive factory and field testing, APG's innovative Turbocharged Natural Gas(TM) System has once again been selected for its safety, reliability, and environmental efficiency by another world class oilfield and drilling service company. APG's user-friendly dual fuel system provides an oil and gas service contractor the maximum flexibility to utilize either pipeline gas, qualified well-head gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), or compressed natural gas (CNG) to displace a large percentage of diesel fuel and realize a significant net fuel savings and lower emissions. Our oil and gas drilling customers have been experiencing paybacks ranging from three months (well-head gas) to nine months (liquefied natural gas), making our dual fuel solution one of the most compelling competitive decisions they can make. At a time when global diesel prices continue to escalate, the ability for operators to utilize our dual fuel technology with inexpensive, clean-burning, and plentiful domestic natural gas provides a significant competitive advantage for those that adopt an APG dual fuel operation. This is the second major order APG has received for dual fuel hydraulic fracturing in the past ninety days and we expect an accelerating adoption of our technology for both stationary and vehicular applications during 2013."

APGI reports fourth quarter fiscal results
![]() |
| American Power Group |
Lyle Jensen, American Power Group Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are very pleased with the progress we have made and the market leadership momentum we have created during the past year with both our vehicular and stationary dual fuel diesel engine solutions. We continue to work closely with the EPA to achieve approvals for additional Outside Useful Life (OUL) and Inside Useful Life (IUL) vehicular conversions. APGI is currently a leader in vehicular EPA OUL approvals with 88 engine families on four different OEM engine platforms. We expect to complete another 100 EPA OUL engine family approvals on four additional OEM engine platforms before the end of the second calendar quarter of 2013. We will begin testing for lower mileage IUL conversions at the University of Houston in January which we anticipate will result in additional IUL OEM engine platform approvals throughout the year."
Mr. Jensen added, "As these EPA approvals are secured, private and corporate fleets will be able to begin their own evaluation testing on a wide range of engine models, providing a platform for us to achieve our initial near term objective of 1,000 conversions per year which would equate to over $10 million of annual revenue. As these fleets move into production, our next targeted goal is 1,000 conversions per month. We anticipate that our recent National Distribution and Master Marketing Agreement with WheelTime Network, LLC will provide us with high-quality certified conversion centers across North America to support these scalability requirements."
Jensen further stated, "We made tremendous progress with our stationary conversion efforts this year, reporting fiscal 2012 stationary vertical drilling conversion revenue of $1.9 million, five times higher than revenues from that segment in fiscal 2011. Notably, second half conversion revenue was double the revenue generated in the first half of the year. Endorsements from the Linde Group, CONSOL Energy and EQT helped open up the Marcellus region for expanded APG conversions in 2012 and we expect to enter new regions in Canada and Colorado during the coming year. APG's technology is currently being tested by several of the world's largest Oil & Gas equipment corporations for the application of dual fuel technology on horizontal fracturing rigs and we anticipate that field testing will be completed in the first quarter of calendar 2013 with production orders to be awarded shortly thereafter. Our proprietary dual fuel technology that provides our customers the ability to lower energy costs and reduce emissions, has differentiated APG and positioned us as a recognized leader in dual fuel conversions."

GMTI (Greenman) announces favorable emissions tests
Lyle Jensen, GreenMan's CEO, stated, "During the past fifteen months, we have gone from two initial installations in the oil and gas industry to over forty-five retrofits to-date. These successes have positioned APG as a market leader in retrofitting the most popular lower horsepower 1475 HP engines traditionally used by the major oil and gas exploration companies. As a result of this success and compelling economic returns, we have been approached by many of the top oil and gas exploration companies regarding our ability to retrofit the high horsepower engines. Today's announcement is an important milestone in our ongoing effort to increase revenue and our exposure to the oil and gas exploration industry. We now have a clear legal path to begin accepting pre-production test orders from customers on the newer diesel pump engines (IUL) being deployed."
Mr. Jensen added, "While a traditional oil and gas drilling site operates three diesel engines, a typical hydraulic fracturing site is comprised of up to twenty high horsepower diesel pumps like the one described above. Our initial target market is the estimated 2,000 new high horsepower diesel pumps being deployed by the hydraulic fracturing industry annually in the United States."
Their stock is open to public trade...if you are interested in supporting a dual fuel engine built right here in Iowa then look into GMTI.
GMTI supports APG (American Power Group) more and more every passing year. This company is located here in the Midwest. In fact its main facility is in Algona, Iowa.
